I appears that you are running a plain vanilla version of
PHPbb for your forums. This should be good enough for its
purposes. PHPbb is easy to learn how to administrate and is
only missing one feature. That feature is subscriber accounting.

There exists a mod for this feature that looks like more than
you need so should work fine for you.

Main functions include:

1. user can register as normal, but only paid member can access certain forums in your site. The paid member will be added to a group you specified in Admin Control Panel.
2. Allow VIP users to access all forums without payment.
3. Allow Trial Period
4. Administrator Control Panel settings.
5. After subscription expires, this user will be removed from the group and can not access the restricted forums.
6. PayPal IPN of course.
7. detailed tansaction records also included in ACP.
8. remind for trial period or expire date for members.
9. member can extend current membership if manual payment, otherwise his membership will be auto-renewed.
10. user can subscribe to multi-groups.
11. If the user has subscribed before, he can not enjoy the trial period set for each payment group any more.
12. Fully tested on PHPBB Version 2.0.10 and 2.0.6 with No other MODs installed, 2.0.6 and 2.2 with heavy MODs installed.

Installing mods to PHPbb is not for beginners but it is not *that* hard.
