Rick Amandan - Author of  "Bright Spirits on Threads of Fire Fly" - Bio

Rick Amandan was born the son of a carpenter. He became a nuclear scientist, electronics engineer, and computer programmer who retired after working on several major national research projects. He is a veteran and father of four with significant life experience as an artist, journalist, and broadcast radio personality.

His love of knowledge and learning, and for investigating the mysteries of the universe, makes him a true philosopher and his passion has always been to use his multiple talents and wide-ranging expertise to make the future a better place for us all. Throughout his life he has acted on that passion by persistently challenging the status quo and those who seek to perpetuate it just for the sake of sustaining their personal advantages and power over others. He doesn't like bullies of any rank or class. He is a staunch independent voter and a veteran volunteer for numerous progressive political campaigns and causes dating back to the 1960s, and he remains a citizen activist and vocal advocate for free speech, freedom of religion, the separation of church and state, clean and green energy, preserving the environment, space exploration, the right to bear arms, the rights of the poor, the elderly, the sick, and the disabled, and the right to be left alone.
